From:
Tulsa, OK

About:
J. Kevin Stitt is the 28th governor of Oklahoma. Governor Stitt is leading the state with a vision to become Top Ten in critical categories, from government accountability to job growth, infrastructure, education and more.

Governor Stitt is an entrepreneur and businessman who founded Gateway Mortgage Group in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2000. Starting Gateway with only $1,000 and a computer, he grew his business into one of the top 20 mortgage lenders and servicers in the nation, operating in more than 40 states and servicing more than $20 billion in residential mortgages. Stitt led Gateway through a merger with Farmers Exchange Bank in 2018 and formed Gateway First Bank, which is headquartered in Jenks, Oklahoma, and operates more than 160 mortgage centers across the country and employs more than 1,400 people.

Since taking office, the governor has worked together with the Legislature to produce historic reform in five of the largest state agencies, allowing him to identify and recruit the best talent to serve in critical leadership positions. More than half of the governor’s cabinet is made of experts who came from the private sector in Oklahoma, including the first chief operating officer in state history. Governor Stitt also led the state to build its largest savings account in history, which proved to be prophetic in the face of a significant decline in the oil and gas market.

Governor Kevin Stitt, born on December 28 in 1972, is a fourth-generation Oklahoman who graduated from Norman High School and is an alumnus of Oklahoma State University, where he received an accounting degree in 1996. Governor Stitt and his wife, Sarah, have six children and have been married since 1998. He is up for reelection in 2022.

Leadership That Matters.

Governor Stitt has worked with the Oklahoma Legislature to lead the country in preserving and protecting the liberties enshrined for all Oklahomans, and all Americans in the U.S. Constitution. In 2021 alone he has shown himself to be a strong proponent and protector of Oklahomans rights under the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th amendments, in addition to ensuring that federal government overreach does not encroach upon Oklahoma's 10th amendment rights. Gov. Stitt has been true to his word, fulfilling campaign promises regarding government accountability, economic growth, and improvements to Oklahoma education; this includes instituting protections for Oklahoma's youth from Critical Race Theory indoctrination in the state's classrooms. He also instituted accountability and equity reforms for private and charter schools, increased school choice options, and signed the largest education budget increase in Oklahoma history. Oklahoma is safer, more prosperous, and more free now than at any other time since 1907. Our state government is among the most transparent and accountable in the U.S. Additionally, Oklahoma is now ranked the 6th lowest among states that assess personal income tax and tied with Missouri as 2nd lowest among states with a corporate income tax. OK continues to lead the nation under Governor Stitt's leadership.

"Oklahoma is leading the way when it comes to finding success through conservative values - our economy is one of the brightest in the nation and we are making sure that everyone can enjoy their freedoms and way of life by keeping our businesses and schools OPEN!"

Pandemic Leadership.

While governors from other states were locking down their citizens in the most draconian fashion, Governor Stitt ensured that Oklahomans could live and thrive under a more conservative approach. Localities were given the freedom to protect their communities with little interference from the state. Many Oklahoma communities endured strict "emergency orders," but those restrictions were managed at the lowest possible level, with the most accountability to citizens and voters.
