County Committee of the JCGOP Jackson County, Oklahoma Republican Party

The Jackson County GOP Committee consists of the County Chairman, Gregory Hawn, County Vice Chairman, Thomas Glosser,
Two State Committee members, Colt Hocker and Kimberly Hawn,
Two Congressional District (CD 3) Committee members, Diana Gillihan and VACANT,
All Precinct Committee Chairmen, and All Precinct Vice Chairmen.

Authority and Duties

The County Committee is the supreme Republican Party authority of the Jackson County Republican Party, subject to the rules of the Oklahoma Republican Party and the direction & control of County Conventions. It is charged with the duty of promoting the welfare, directing, and controlling the affairs of the Republican Party in Jackson County.

Meetings

Meetings are held at the joint call of the Chairman and Vice Chairman. If either is unable or unwilling to call for a meeting, the other may do so. If both the Chairman and Vice Chairman are unable or unwilling to call for a meeting, then 1/4 of the existing committee members may call for a meeting. Five (5) days notice in writing or via electronic means to the County Committee is required, regardless of which committee members call for the meeting.

The JCGOP County Committee normally attempts to meet on a monthly basis. These meetings will routinely be held on the 4th Monday of the month. They also meet prior to any County Convention to make recommendations to the County Chairman for the organization of the County Convention.

Vacancies

If any County Committee member dies, moves from the county, resigns, or otherwise becomes disqualified, then the County Executive Committee if there be one, which shall meet within sixty (60) days of said vacancy, shall fill the vacancy, subject to the approval of the County Committee. Should the County Committee fail to approve the recommendation of the County Executive Committee, the vacancy shall be referred back to the County Executive Committee for further recommendation.
